MEET VANESIA

A Proven Advocate and Community Leader

Vanesia Johnson has resided in House District 76 for 20 years. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the State of Texas. Vanesia is the mother of Christian and Austin who are both proud born and raised Texans.

Since 2001, Vanesia has served as a healthcare administrator in the nonprofit and private sector. She has extensive experience overseeing programs and clinical operations involving primary care, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS services, community and medical case management, healthy relationships, mental health services, research, quality assurance, and corporate compliance.

Vanesia earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Mississippi Valley State University, a HBCU in the heart of the Mississippi Delta.

Vanesia is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society, NAACP, National Association of Professional Women, and American Society for Public Administration.

Vanesia is an equity champion, proven advocate, and bold community leader. She is confident that she can represent the constituents of HD 76 with integrity, fierce advocacy, and a relentless determination to succeed.
